Commercial and Public Sector Customers Benefit from Government Validations, Newly Integrated Secure Shell Capabilities and Flexible Deployment Options
SEATTLE, May 10, 2005 — WRQ, Inc. today announced the worldwide availability of new versions of WRQ Reflection software, a line of highly advanced and quality host access products and a set of SSH (Secure Shell) security tools. In a separate announcement today, the company also introduced an upgrade to F-Secure SSH, now known as Reflection for Secure IT. WRQ Reflection products deliver comprehensive security and management capabilities, enabling companies to improve productivity and leverage existing IT investments. The new and expanded WRQ offerings further pave the way for businesses to gain “universal host access,” the ability to secure host connections and data while simplifying administration and deployment tasks regardless of connection type, host computer, client interface or type of users.
“WRQ’s new products demonstrate our continued focus on customer requirements and commitment to delivering superior, secure technology for a marketplace that depends on secure access to data within integrated Web environments,” said Randy Robinson, vice president of products at WRQ. “Whether you need to encrypt host connections or file transfers, securely manage remote servers or secure corporate applications over the Internet, our products enable companies to work securely and effectively.”
Reflection’s new and enhanced features address government and business IT priorities by maximizing security through the authentication and the encryption of data, providing compliance with stringent regulations regarding the privacy and protection of information. Reflection’s integrated security options reduce support costs and overall total cost of ownership with a single vendor solution. These new versions of Reflection offer integrated single sign-on (SSO) to host systems, which helps to reduce help desk time and expense associated with managing the extensive number of required host-related IDs and passwords.
WRQ Reflection is one of the first host access solutions to gain Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) 140-2 validation, which defines cryptographic standards. Reflection for Secure IT is now the first and only SSH solution to be certified for compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) Class 3 Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) Public Key-Enabled (PKE) application requirements. Reflection for Secure IT’s encrypted connections ensure the integrity and privacy of data in motion. These security enhancements and validations are essential to commercial businesses as well as required by government organizations.
“In today’s market, vendors must help IT protect data that moves inside and outside corporate networks with solutions that are flexible enough to be integrated within a mixed environment,” said Lucinda Borovick, director, Datacenter Networks, IDC. “Reflection’s security and management capabilities enable customers to tackle high priority IT operational challenges such as protecting their mission-critical data and lowering management costs.”
