SEATTLE, June 6, 2006 — AttachmateWRQ today announced the worldwide availability of new versions of AttachmateWRQ Reflection software, its industry-leading line of host access products and Secure Shell (SSH) security tools. Continuing the Company’s commitment to the terminal emulation and host access market, the latest versions of AttachmateWRQ Reflection feature an enhanced set of advanced security, management and customization capabilities that enable organizations to extend the value of their host assets while minimizing management costs, maximizing end-user productivity and safeguarding critical business data.

Reflection for Secure IT
Reflection for Secure IT, AttachmateWRQ’s SSH product line, provides a new, robust, fully supported version of SSH for z/OS in this release. Designed specifically for secure file transfer, this new SSH on z/OS-based version includes the mainframe in the security loop that protects file transfers on other systems, including UNIX, Linux and Windows. Mainframe-based organizations are especially struggling with File Transfer Protocol (FTP), which when unsecured can leave organizations exposed as passwords and sensitive data travel between the FTP client and server. Reflection for Secure IT enables companies to leverage their existing security assets in order to minimize exposure to vulnerabilities, securely extend the value of their host assets and lower their total cost of ownership.
With clients and servers running on Windows, UNIX, Linux and now z/OS platforms, Reflection for Secure IT gives enterprises network authentication and encryption protection from eavesdropping, hacking and industrial espionage. This release also introduces clients and servers for Linux on IBM zSeries mainframes. Reflection for Secure IT meets a complete range of data privacy, data integrity and authentication regulatory requirements; is validated for Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) 140-2; and is certified for compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) Class 3 Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) Public Key-Enabled (PKE) application requirements.
Reflection Host Access Solutions
Security enhancements are a major part of the new release of Reflection host access solutions, AttachmateWRQ’s desktop product line for connecting to a variety of midrange and mainframe systems. These include:
- Simplified certificate management with Reflection Certificate Manager;
- Acceptance of single sign-on (SSO) authentication certificates with Reflection Key Agent;
- Integrated multi-host SSH configuration support;
- Enhanced support for certificates – PKCS #11, Certificate Revocation Lists (CRL) and intermediate certificate storage through LDAP for strong authentication;
- Smart card support through PKCS #11 interface facilitates interoperability between strong authentication and secure connectivity;
- Support for IBM Express Logon Feature (ELF) enables certificate authentication and SSO for mainframe sessions;
- Automatic Kerberos sign-on allows users to access IBM iSeries hosts using Windows credentials or any Kerberos ticket available to Java.
