BELLEVUE, Wash. -- Sept. 2, 2003 -- Attachmate Corporation, with more than 20 years of innovation in the legacy application integration space, announced today that its myEXTRA!™ Smart Connector products are now Microsoft® .NET Connected certified. Attachmate myEXTRA! Smart Connectors capture legacy data and business logic as callable services for use in new applications developed on the .NET Framework.
myEXTRA! Smart Connectors for 3270 and 5250 version 2.1, and myEXTRA! Smart Connector for UTS and T27 version 2.1 passed Microsoft’s rigorous certification procedure to earn the Microsoft .NET Connected logo. The Microsoft .NET Connected logo identifies products that are designed to help customers create .NET Connected solutions and connect to information, whenever and wherever necessary, to meet their needs. Customers can use Microsoft’s .NET Connected Directory to find software and services that are certified to use the .NET Connected logo.
The .NET Connected program is for use by Web services and applications built for the .NET Framework that fully support industry interoperability standards. This is in line with Attachmate’s corporate philosophy to develop legacy application integration software that follows open standards and platforms to fit with the customer’s existing infrastructure. Attachmate, as well as Microsoft, are members of the Web Services Interoperability Organization (WS-I).
